The documentary short 'Hit ME, I like it!' premieres Sunday, September 16th at the Camden International Film Festival and is coming soon to SI.tv. The demolition derby is a ritual where people make a sacrifice to some sort of god of destruction. This deliberate wreckage is a holiday - a hall pass from being an adult, and the only time they can act out games once played in their fathers’ shops with toy plastic cars. It’s fun. The pain is a side effect, a hangover. All drivers go in with a plan, but as soon as the first cars collide, everyone is out for blood.
