At last year’s event, Burns overcame a three-shot deficit in the final round, defeating Davis Riley in a two-hole playoff to defend his title at Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead Course). This year, Burns will once again have to overcome 15-time PGA TOUR winner Justin Thomas, who finished T2 last year, just one shot out of the playoff. Reigning U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick finished an impressive T5 last year and will be looking for his first non-major win on the PGA TOUR, with his other professional wins coming on the DP World Tour and Asian Tour. Three-time major winner and 2015 Valspar champion Jordan Spieth will be teeing it up again this week after a lucky ricochet at The PLAYERS saw him make an unlikely eagle to make the cut and finish inside the top 20.
