In an endurance-sapping duel, Florida’s Bobby Finke kept on rolling at the 2021 Toyota U.S. Open with a triumph against Ohio State’s Charlie Clark in the men’s 1500 free.
Finke and Clark traded the lead throughout the long-distance event with Finke having too much for Clark down the stretch to win 15:04.77 to 15:07.53 and capture the top of the podium.
Swimming out of the earlier heat of timed finals, Florida’s Trey Freeman claimed third-place overall with a 15:24.83.
